First, one of our players came down with Covid after Saturday's game. They aren't sure where or when they got it, so I'm letting you know so you can watch for symptoms.
Second, It looks like PokerStars will be ending their support for homes games the end of next month. This may affect our Wednesday online games. We are looking for an alternative now. Please stay tuned.
Third, Jon & Sophie plan to host another Hybrid game on the 21st. Always fun, hope you can make it.
Fourth, This is the last month to sign up for the WSOP challenge. We will be providing 3 seats for next year, so it's a great chance to play in a WSOP game for free. Let me know if you are interested. Here's who we have:
Jerry, Kathy, Peter, Jon, Sophie, David K, Jim, Barb, Tony, Bob, Bill, Ed, James, Memhet, Rod, Bobbie, Patty, Kittie, Kathy Cr
Finally - We had 23 players for our March live game which ties the all-time record.
Everyone made it to the first (dinner) break. BTW - thanks to everyone who makes such great food. This game has the best food anywhere!
We combined down to 2 tables right at the second (dessert) break. And were down to a single table just a few minutes before the 3rd break.
It seemed like we lost a player ever few hands until it down to 5 players. Then the chips flowed around the table, but everyone maintained a healthy stack. Looked like a long night.
Eventually the deadlock was broken when Rod busted out on the bubble. John was next to fall and had to settle for the bonus points in fourth place.
Jim had a huge stack and looked like a lock, but Memhet and Bobby were giving him a good run for his money. Memhet fell out and it was Bobby and Jim heads-up for the win.
The lead changed back and forth, but when the dust settled, it was Jim standing victorious. Well done!
Jim's win gives him the overall lead.
Here's the top 5:
