This time, 6 players made it to the second break.
4 players made it to the 2-hour mark. Then, Kathy rivered a straight to bust out Pam. This brought Kathy to 9,237 chips. But she wasn't the chip leader. That was Jim with 12,071. Kofi rounded out third place with 5,692. 5 minutes before the second break, Kathy hit her flush to bust out Kofi. Now she did have the lead with 16,264 to Jim's 10,736.
Kathy had the lead at the 2nd break - but she lost it soon after. She worked her way back and managed to re-take the lead, then hit another straight to bust out Jim and take another win!

Again, eight players made it to the one hour mark.
This time, 6 players made it to the second break.
Bruce knocked out Marv 15 minutes later to get to the final 3. But it was Kathy with the large chip lead. She had 13,352. Bruce was in second with 8,907 and Jerry trailed with 4,741. Jerry was out 10 minutes later when his AK couldn't catch against Bruce's QQ. Kathy still led with 15,117 but Bruce was catching up with 11,883.
They were nearly even at the 2-hour mark. 15 minutes later, Kathy had regained the lead and hit two-pair to bust out Bruce. That's why she's the champ!

The field was down to 4 by the second break.
Bruce knocked out Pam 20 minutes later to get to the final 3. He had a huge chip lead with 19,000 to Jim's 6,000 and Sadik's 5,000. 2 minutes later Jim eliminated Sadik when he hit an aces to bust Sadik's pocket queens. Jim was catching Bruce with 11,629 to Bruce's 18,371.
Jim lost a major pot just before the two-hour mark and had to start chipping away again. It could be a long night. But it was not to be. Jim slowly dwindled and finally fell to Bruce's flush when he hit top pair.

Jon could have taken the championship away from Kathy with a first or second place finish - but it was not to be and Kathy locked up her first online championship.

Bruce knocked out Jim just before the second break to get down to 3. But it was Sadik with the chip lead. He had 10,072. Bruce was next with 7,542 and Jon was still dangerous with 6,386.
10 minutes after the break, Bruce hit the nut flush to bust out Sadik. Bruce now lead with 15,184 to Jon's 8,816. The heads-up battle lasted 15 minutes. It ended when Bruce flopped a boat and Jon had top two pair with an ace kicker.

Jon's second place puts him within 20 points of Kathy. Next week is the last game for points. The championship will be decided then!

Kofi knocked out Marv just before the second break to bring them down to 3 players. Kofi had the big lead with 13,031. Pam was next with 10.265 and Dave was still in there with 6,704.
Pam turned a boat to bust out Kofi right at the 2 hour mark. Pam had 23,580 to Dave's 6,420. It was over on the next hand with they both had two-pair, but Pam had a better kicker.

Just after the 2 hour mark, Kathy took out Pam when her pocket kings held up. She now had 10,589 chips. But it was Jon who led with 14,634 and Jim trailed with 4,777. Jim was out about 10 minutes later when he shoved and Kathy called with a better ace. Neither improved and Jim was out. Jon still led with 15,969, but Kathy was right behind with 14,031.
The lead changed many times, but it was Jon who led at the 3rd break. He had 17,119 to Kathy's 12,881. It was over 5 minutes later when Jon woke up with pocket kings. Kathy couldn't overcome and she went out in second.

Jon has placed in the top 3 for the last 8 games! He has closed within 45 points of the lead. Looks like it'll be an interesting finish after all.

Jerry had taken the lead by the second break. He had 11,907. Kathy was next with 5,787 and Jon was still alive with 3,306.
Jerry hit another straight (flopped it this time) to take out Kathy a few minutes later. He now had a big lead over Jon. 18,519 to Jon's 2,481. 10 minutes later, Jerry was able to wear down Jon and take the win.

Just before the 2nd break, Kathy ran into Jon's pocket aces. Kathy flopped top pair, but it wasn't good enough. She went out in 4th. That left Jon with the chip lead with 8,499. Mehmet was right behind with 6,410 and Jim was there as well with 6,091.
Jim ran out of luck right at the second break. He hit top and bottom pair, but Jon had hit top 2 pair. The chips went in and Jim went out. Jon now led with 14,135 to Mehmet's 6,865.
Mehmet held on as long as he could, but Jon's lead was just too big. It took Jon 20 minutes, but he wrapped up the win.

It took 10 minutes, but Kathy wore down Jon until he had to shove with KQ. Kathy called with AJ. Neither improved and Kathy won the game.

Kathy went out in third 15 minutes later. Jon now led with 14,527 to Jerry's 3,473. It was over 3 minutes later when Jerry rivered 2 pair and Jon hit his straight.

Kathy busted out Jon to go into heads-up with Kofi as the chip leader. She had 13,000 and Kofi had 8,000. Four minutes later, Kathy missed her flush, but hit a king to bust Kofi anyway.

There were only 3 players left just before the one hour mark. Kofi had the lead with 9,000 chips. Jon was next with 5,600 and Mehmet was still alive with 3,400.
By the one hour mark, things had leveled out. Jon and Kofi each had 6,500 and Mehmet had 5000.
Mehmet went out 5 minutes before the second break. Jon had the lead with 9,347 and Kofi had 8,653. Kofi had regained the lead by the second break with 9,978 to Jon's 8,022.
The game ended 5 minutes later when Jon hit a full house on the river to bust Kofi.

TopThis week PokerStars removed the long-standing Thursday game, so I had to create a new one. Different structure and it cost 20,000 play chips instead of 1. Sorry about that. I'm trying to get PS to re-instate the old game, but... Meanwhile, you can get 15,000 chips every 4 hours just by logging in and clicking the "Free Chips" button.

Five minutes before the second break - they were down to 3 players. Jon had the big lead with 11,233. Sadik was next with 7,107 and Mehmet was still alive with 2,650.
Jon took out Sadik 10 minutes after the break. He now had 14,935 to Mehmet's 6,065. It ended 5 minutes later when Jon hit trip queens to bust Mehmet.

TopDown to four players starting this week. This time, 2 players went out before the first break, but 4 players came in. Including 2 we haven't seen in a while - welcome back Dave and Pam!
20 minutes later they were down to 3 players. Pam had the big lead with 11,592. Dave was next with 2,255 and Kofi was right behind with 2,093. Kofi went out right at the one hour mark. Pam still led with 11,415, but Dave had Kofi's chips and was catching up with 4,585.
It took 25 minutes but Dave turned the tide and pocketed the win (I suspect he's sleeping on the couch tonight).

One more player jumped in just after the break. Twenty minutes later they were down to 3 players. Kathy had the big lead with 10,000 chips. Bruce was next with 5,200 and Jerry was last with 2,800. Not much had changed by the 1 hour mark. Jerry had gained 1,000 and Bruce and Kathy had each lost 500.
After 20 minutes of three-way action, Jerry eliminated Bruce. Kathy still led with 9,738 but he was close with 8,262. It ended just before the second break when Jerry shoved with his AK, but Kathy had already flopped a straight.

Four players made it to the one hour mark. 10 minutes later, Jon got it all-in against Kofi with A-7. Kofi had A-8, but Jon hit a 7 on the flop and it held up. Kofi was out in 4th. It was Mehmet with 8,073 to lead. Bruce was next with 5,232 and Jon was third with 4,695. Bruce was the next one to go about 5 minutes later. Mehmet hit the nut flush to bust Bruce in 3rd. Jon now led with 11,990 to Mehmet's 6,010.
They were still battling at the 2nd break. Mehmet had taken a slight lead with 9,360 to Jon's 8,640. It ended about 5 minutes later when Jon hit his straight and Mehmet was out in second.

Kofi was the next one out. Peter still led with 9,332 but Kathy was catching up with 6,668. Kathy was in good shape when she shoved with her pocket kings and Peter called with pockt tens. But, it was not to be, Peter flopped a third ten and it was over.

15 minutes later they were down to 3. Kofi had the big lead 6,968. Kathy was next with 4,790 and Jerry was still alive with 3,806. At the one hour mark, Kofi still led with 7,445. Kathy was still in second with 5,591 and Jerry was still alive with 2,889.
Jerry held on for 15 minutes, but he couldn't hang on. That left Kathy with 8,900 to Kofi's 7,100. Kofi had taken a slight led by the second break (8,049 to 7,951). It was an interesting heads-up match.
But it didn't last very long. Less than 5 minutes after the break, it was Kathy who come out on top to take the win!

Jerry & Kofi played heads-up for about 20 minutes. Jerry took over the lead, but then Kofi won it back. Jerry shoved with his pocket jacks and Kofi called with his A6 of diamonds. Kofi hit the ace on the river for the win.

Jon came in after the break. 4 players made it to the one hour mark but just barely. Bruce had all the chips and everyone else was struggling.
Kathy went out a few minutes later when she shoved her 10 big blinds with KJ and Bruce called with his pocket aces. The aces held up and Kathy was out. Bruce had 13,225 chips. Marv was next with 1,518 and Jim held 1,257.
10 minutes later, Marv shoved with AJ and got called by Bruce's AT suited. Unfortunately (for Marv) Bruce caught a flush on the river and Marv had to settle for third. Bruce now had 13,746 to Jon's 2,254.
It ended 2 minutes later when Jon shoved with his second pair, but Bruce called with top pair. Jon didn't improve and Bruce took his second win this year!

Jon was the next one out. He shoved with A4 suited and got Mehmet called with pockets 7's. A seven hit on the flop and it was over. Mehmet now had a whopping 11,581 and Sadik had 2,419. David and Goliath for sure.
Sadik lasted another 10 minutes. He shoved with two-pair only to find that MehMet had rivered a straight to take the game.

It was Bruce's night as he river'ed a flush to bust Peter's pocket queens and take the win.

It only took a few minutes to get down to 3. Sadik's pocket aces took out Peter's A3 to eliminate him. Kofi was the chip leader with 7,729. Sadik was next with 6,381 and Jon was still very much in it with 5,890.
It seemed that they were just trading chips until the second break. Kofi had regained the lead with 9,054. Jon was now second with 7,475 and Sadik had slipped back to third with 3,471.
Kofi hit a set of 7's to bust Sadik's AK suited and remove from the game. Kofi now had 13.015 to Jon's 6,985. Kofi hit 2 pair a few hands later to eliminate Jon also.

Mehmet ran into Kathy's aces to finish in third right after the break. Kathy now had 12,116 to Jim's 3,884. It ended about 10 minutes later when Jim hit his ace on the flop, but Kathy scored 2 pair.

Peter knocked out Sadik about 20 minutes later to leave the final 3. Kathy had the lead with 7,714. Peter was right behind her with 7,190 and Jon held a respectable 5,096. A few hands later Jon shoved on the turn with two-pair. Peter called and rivered a better two pair and Jon was out. Peter now had the big lead with 12,516 to Kathy's 7,484.
The lead changed hands several times after the second break. It was Peter's turn a few minutes after then break when he suddenly went off-line. There was a pretty good storm and I suspect that he lost power. Since Kathy was still connected, she collected Peter's blinds until Peter came back nearly 15 minutes later. Kathy led with 15,049 to Peter's remaining 4,951. Kathy was able to put the game away a few hands later.

2 more players joined before the one hour mark. 3 players dropped out just before the one hour mark - OK, they didn't drop out - Jim evicted them! Jim had the big stack with 10,769. Kathy was next with 2,884 and Jerry was third with 2,347.
Kathy went out just after the one hour mark. Jerry had 5,721 and Jim had a whopping 10,279. It was a back and forth battle with both players leading at various points. The turning point was when they both rivered a straight, but Jerry's was better. He doubled up and left Jim short-stacked. It was still a battle as Jim refused to die - doubling up a couple of times before Jerry was able to out-flop him and take the win.

Marv was in second with 2,557 and Jerry was still alive with 2,240. Jerry went out next when his pocket 7's couldn't hold up to Marv's AJ. Marv now had 3,702 but Kofi had 14,298.
Marv tried to make a game of it. He doubled up, then got it all in with a better hand, but Kofi hit runner-runner to make his flush and that was the game!

Jerry took out Peter a few minutes later. Jerry led with 11,428. Kathy was next with 7,285 and Jim trailed with 3,287. Jim was next out a few minutes later. Jerry still led with 12,749 and Kathy had 9,251.
The led changed several times before the second break. Jerry took a huge hit when he shoved with pocket 7's and Kathy called with AK and hit her ace on the flop. At the break, Jerry was still in it with 4,250 but he had to get lucky because Kathy had 17,750.
It ended the hand after the break. Jerry shoved with his straight draw and Kathy had hit her ace. Jerry missed his draw and Kathy took the win!

Jon went out 10 minutes later. Kofi now led with 7,615 to Jerry's 8,385. Jerry made a come-back, but Kofi ruled the night. Jerry shoved with A-5 suited and was called by Kofi's A-Q. Neither improved and Kofi took the win.

Six players made it to the one hour mark. It only took 12 minutes to trim that down to 3. Sadik took out Jon when his pocket 3's turned into a set and then a boat. Sadik also take the chip lead with 14,953. Mehmet was next with 2,616 and Jim was still alive with 431, but it looked like Sadik's game to lose. Jim was the next to fall to Sadik. Jim's ace was ahead until the turn when Sadik hit his 4. He hit another on the river for good measure. Sadik now held 15,770 chips and Mehmet had 2,230.
Mehmet was hanging on at the second break. He had increased his stack to 3,320, but he was still David to Sadik's 14,680 Goliath. Mehmet managed to last another 20 minutes, but Sadik just had too big a lead. It ended when Sadik flopped trip 4's leaving Mehmet drawer to a chop - which didn't appear.

It ended right on the one hour mark when Jerry rivered a flush to bust out Kathy.

This time 5 players made it to the one hour mark. It only took 15 minutes to turn that into 3 players. Laura called Jim's all-in flop when she flopped top pair. Jim had ace high and didn't improve to put him out in 4th. Laura had the chip lead with 9,454. Kathy was next with 5,517 and Jon was right behind with 5,029. Laura went out a few minutes later when she called Kathy's shove with KQ. Kathy had pocket 5's and they held up to eliminate Laura and give Kathy 9,062 chips. She still trailed Jon's 10,938 but she was close!
Kathy had taken the led by the 2nd break. She had 11,432 to Jon's 8,568. But with the blinds this big, the lead could change with every hand. It ended a few minutes later when Jon pushed too hard with his A8, not knowing that Kathy had flopped QUAD 3's!

Only 4 players made it to the one hour mark. Twenty minutes later they were down to 3 when Sadik busted Jerry's pocket pair to hand him another 4th place finish. But it was Peter who led with 9,742. Sadik was next with 7,727 and Kathy was still live with 2,531. Kathy was next to fall to Sadik when she shoved with 78 off and Sadik called with his pocket aces. Sadik now led with 12,613 to Peter's 7,387.
The heads-up battle lasted 10 minutes after the 2nd break. Peter shoved on an TJA flop when Sadik had the KQ for the straight and the win!

TopBack to 10 players this week. All, but two, made it to the first break.
Five players made it to the one hour mark. Twenty minutes later they were down to 3. This time is was Peter taking out Jerry in 4th place. Peter led with 11,407. Laura was next with 7,484 and Jon trailed with 1,109. Laura had a better pocket pair when Jon shoved a few hands later. They held up and Jon was out in third. Laura was catching Peter with 8,378 to his 11,622.

Top9 players this week. Again, everyone made it to the first break.
Only four players made it to the one hour mark. It took 20 minutes before one of them fell out. Laura took out Jerry to solidify the final 3. Jon had the lead with 8,931. Laura was next with 5,581 and Sadik was still in it with 3,488.
The tables had turned by the 2nd break. Jon led with 12,413. Sadik was next with 2,896 and Laura was in third with 2,691.
Sadik lasted about 5 minutes before Laura flopped a better pair. She now had 5,037 but Jon still led with 12,963. 5 morte minutes and it was over. The both had two pair, but Jon had the better kicker for the win!

They were down to 3 players at the one hour mark. Kofi was leading the way with 10,774. Laura was next with 6,903. And Jon was hanging on with 1,133.
It looked like it was Kofi's night - but it was not to be. Laura and Jon both chipped away at him and 10 minutes later he was out. Jon was the chip leader with 10,175 and Laura was in second with 7,825. Jon's lead was short-lived as Laura took it away on the next hand. Jon fought hard but he couldn't overcome Laura's momentum
Laura won and extended her lead!

They were down to 3 players 10 minutes before the one hour mark (the 50 minute mark?). Tony had just taken the lead (Peter had it most of the night) with 8,890. Peter was a close second with 7,934 and Jim was alive with 3,176.
It didn't take long for Peter to take back the lead and 10 minutes later, Tony was out and Peter had 12,783 in chips. He just had to get past Jim who had increased his stack to 7,217.
Jim fought hard and held out for 15 more minutes - but it was Peter's night and there was not stopping him!

There were 5 players left at the one hour mark.
Ten minutes later they went down to 3 players when Jerry's pocket nines could hold up to Laura's AK. Laura had the big lead with 9,222. Bobby was next with 5,980 and Marv (who led most of the night) had fallen to 2,798.
Not much change at the second break. But, 5 minutes later, Bruce went out when he shoved short-stacked and Laura woke up with an ace. She hit her ace and the flop and Bruce couldn't catch up. Laura was in command with 11,638 to Marv's 6,362. It took her more than 15 minutes (and she lost the lead and had to get it back), but Laura was able to persevere and take the win!

Mehmet went out just before the 2nd break. He rivered trip jacks, but Jon had turned a river and took the pot. Those chips put Jon is second place with 7,215. Marv was leading with 12,333 and Laura was still a factor with 4,452.
The cards turned against Marv and he lost his lead and was out when he shoved with AK suited and got called with KT and a ten fell on the river. Jon now had the lead with 14,355 to Laura's 9,645. It was over a few hands later when Jon shoved with AQ and Laura called with KQ. Neither improved and Jon took the win!

This week Kathy fell to third overall with newcomer Laura taking over first place. Jon's win puts him in second.

10 minutes later, Kathy was short-stacked and shoved with her J9. She ran into Pam's rockets and that was it for her. The three remaining players were all pretty even. Kofi led with 8,282. Pam was next with 7,900 and Dave still had 7,818. It was anyone's game. 5 minutes later, Pam and Dave both rivered flushes. Pam's was better and she took a big lead. She had 15,253 to Kofi's 8,747.
She lost that lead a few minutes later when she hit top pair, but Kofi had aces. Pam was down to less than 2 big blinds. She lasted 10 more minutes, never having more than 4 big blinds. But the mountain was too high and Kofi took the win!

Jim was short stacked and shoved with K8 off a few minutes before the one hour mark. Laura called with her pocket 5s. Jim couldn't improve and he went out in 4th. Laura had the chip lead with 14,084. Bruce (yes - that Bruce!) was next with 8,841 and Jerry had 3,075. A few hands later Jerry shoved with his pocket jacks, but it was Laura again who hit top pair and called with her queens. Laura and increased her lead with 16,084 to Bruce's 9,916.
It ended 10 minutes later. Bruce woke up with pocket kings and raised. Laura called. The flop gave Laura top pair (10s), and she check-called Bruce's bet. The turn gave her an open-ended straight draw. She bet out and Bruce called. The river put a straight on the board. Bruce shoved and Laura called with her higher straight.

Only 4 players made it to the one hour mark. Less than 5 minutes later, Sadik had his aces cracked when Jim rivered a flush. It seemed to be Jim's night as he led with 10,560. Next was Laura with 5,980 and Mehmet was still alive with 3,460. Laura was the next one out when Jim hit 2 pair to bust her top pair. Jim had regained the lead with 12,200 to Mehmet's 7,800
Jim had extended his lead by the second break. He now had 15,765 to Mehmet's 4,235.
It only took about 10 minutes before the blinds and Jim's luck got to Mehmet. He ended up shoving with an A4 and Jim called with A6 and ended up with trips for the win!

Top8 players started this week. Only 5 made it to the first break and a late-comer came in after the break.
Less than 15 minutes later, they were only 3. Marv had a HUGE lead with 10,669. Kathy was next with 3,727 and Jerry was right behind with 3,604. Kathy went out a few hands minutes later. Jerry took most of her chips when he rivered a straight to bust her set. Marv still led with 12,101 to Jerry's 5,899.
Jerry had made up a little ground by the one hour mark. He had 7,219 to Marv's 10,781.
Jerry had the lead at the second break. He had 9,739 to Marv's 8,261. Still anyone's game. It ended 15 minutes later. Jerry hit top pair and Marv had 2nd pair with a gut-shot straight draw. The chips went in, but Marv didn't improve and Jerry took the win!

6 players at the one hour mark. Ten minutes later, they were down to three when Andy's pocket 4's held up to Kofi's A3 suited. Andy had the big lead with 12,630. Dave R. was next with 6,415 and Marv was hanging tough with 2,955.
By the second break, Dave had taken over the lead with 9,455. Andy held second with 6,775 but Marv was breathing down his neck with 5,770. Dave took most of Andy's chips and Marv finished him off with his A7 off. Going into heads-up it was Dave with 15,940 to Marv's 6,060. It ended just before the 2 hour mark. Marv flopped top two pair, but Dave had a straight and nut flush draw (and top pair). Dave hit his straight and it was over.

There were still 5 players at the one hour mark. Again, it took only 15 minutes to get down to 3 players. Jerry went out when he turned two-pair, but Kathy had already flopped a better two-pair. Kathy had the chip lead with 10,426. Jim was next with 1,788 but Jon was only two chips behind with 1,786. Jim took out Jon a couple of hands later when he turned a better pair and called Jon's all-in. Jim now had 3,824 to Kathy's 10,176. Jim was making a come-back when he shoved with AK. Kathy called with J7 and rivered a straight! Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Six players made it to the one hour mark. Again, it took only 15 minutes to get down to 3 players. This time Marv had the big chip lead with 12,858 chips to Kathy's 5,096 and Jerry's 4,046. Jerry went out a few hands later when Marv rivered a flush to beat his pair. He now led Kathy 18,529 to 3,471.
Kathy had improved a little by the second break, but every chip was hard-fought. Marv led 17,179 to her 4,821. In the next 15 minutes Kathy managed to chip away at the lead until they were nearly even. Then she hit her straight to crack Marv's set. Marv was short and went in on the next hand with ace-high. Kathy called and turned trip 8's for the win!

With a whole new group on the podium this week, it seems out players are fairly well balanced.

5 players made it to the one hour mark. 15 minutes later - they were down to three. Kofi had the chip lead with 6,659. Mehmet was right behind with 5,003 and Peter was making a comeback with 4,338. Mehmet almost made it to the second break. He got it in with the best hand, but Peter rivered a flush to take him out. That left Kofi heads-up with 9,519 to Peter's 6,481.
Peter had inched up a little by the second break. He had 7,041 to Kofi's 8,959. They kept trading the lead, but when the dust settled, Kofi took the win!
